Collectivization of farms is in keeping with Communist philosophy. Joseph Stalin entrenched Russia in Communism during the Post-World War I years. All land was nationalized. The government also owned and controlled all industrial enterprises. Secret Police agencies were created to suppress resistance to Stalin’s plans.
