    I believe the answer is: Stay in line and wait until the vehicle ahead proceeds

    In this situation, pedestrian safety need to be prioritized above all else. Cutting off the stopping car in front of you could potentially resulted in crashes that endanger the crossing pedestrians. (you need to this even if a traffic light is not present)
