Ancient human societies are described as labor intensive, and modern society is said to be energy intensive. what is meant by these terms?

    Labor intensive means that humans did the most of the work during the production process (they handcrafted each products and use slave labors to increase the production)

    Energy intensive means that machines did most of the work during the production process. This process started to spread after the early development of industrial revolution.

    Labor extensive is a process where by the cost of labor are high compared to the cost incurred in purchase, depreciation and the maintenance of the capital equipment. A good example of labor extensive is agricultural industry. This is because it uses large amount of labor and small capital that is more of labor less capital is used in production process.

    Modern society is where people are living together in the current time. It involves the practices that are related to the industrial mode of production. Modern society has various advantages because life is easy and there are life saving techniques like use of medicine.

    These two societies are said to be energy intensive normally because there is measure of energy efficiency in their economy.
