The reason why America didn't go into another depression after WWii was because from all the war bonds and other ways that the government encouraged Americans to save money and give it to the war effort, they had built a safety net of over $200 billion. When the men returned from the war, they began to look for employment and because of this many women lost their jobs. At the same time, divorce increased, many who served would remain unemployed, and taxes inflated up to 125%.
