    This Act established that the British East India Company did not have to pay taxes regarding the market of tea, except for the taxes that were imposed by the Townshend Acts. However, American patriots considered that the taxes that were established in the Townshend Act violated their rights. Thus, Native Americans destroyed some ships that belonged to the East India Company. They threw the chests of tea throughout the Boston Harbor.
