In terms of health and life expectancy, what is the "the great equalizer" among men and women? Smoking. It is said that smoking is one of the main ways that women and men can live roughly the same lifetime. Smoking is just as harmful to men as it is to women and therefor it "equalizes" their chances at a long life expectancy.
