It is part of social learning in which no instruction are involved a person just learns from observing others do things, the likelihood of them imitating that particular behavior depends on whether the observed behavior was rewarded from their model or was punished.

    People are likely to imitate a behavior that is rewarded and reject that one which is punished.

    Modeling is also crucial when teaching someone new skills, by leading them with a behavior that they need to imitate such as how Xavier's brother is doing.
