What did the Mayflower Compact and the Fundamental Orders of Connecticut have in common?

    Both of these documents, as well as the Virginia House of Burgesses played an important role in our history. It is because these documents were the first example of self government by the colonists. They had lived under the king, and until then, they had never been able to have a say in their government or let there voice be heard. It was also one of the first acts of rebillion against the king.
