    Relative poverty refers to a situation when someone's economic condition is considered as 'Bad' But only if compared to the social group around them. This tend to exist in Rich countries like united States or western Europe.

    From the example above, Janis feel 'poor' because she sees her other classmates (which is the social group around her) Can afford it. But, if we compared Janis' family to the poor family in Africa for example, t Janis' family will be considered to be moderately well off.
