Sociological imagination means looking at things in a different way than we are used to in everyday life, but looking at it in a broader perspective. In order to understand our personal problems, we have to place ourselves in a certain period, in a certain historical context and in a certain social reality. The ability we have to associate all these elements and relate to the behavior of an individual Mills calls Sociological Imagination. Another characteristic attributed by Mill is that it corresponds to the ability to change our perspective to a new one, always in an attempt to achieve a total vision of society and all the elements that are part of it.
