What political values do pericles and confucius share? would they agree at all on the features of a good government, a good family, or a good servant of the state?

    It could be said Pericles and Confucius did not share many ideas so the comparison might be based on their differences. On the one hand, Pericles ruled an small state with serious political problems. His main preoccupation was to set the ideals of a State implementing a new culture, politics and military. As regards family, he commented on the Athenian women as modest. he created the idea of Acropolis (nowadays cities). He was a soldier and a politician. On the other hand, Confucius never ruled but he was an official in a powerful empire. His preoccupation was private virtue and family. He aimed to build a society based on the virtue of individuals and family.
