The communist ideologies and rulers can still be found in certain countries. In general we can say that none of the modern day communist leaders and countries are actually communist, but a mixture of two or more ideologies.

Vietnam is a communist country, but very similarly to China, it has an open economy, not a self-sustaining closed one. The natural resources and the properties in the country are of mixed nature, some being owned by the government, some by private owners.

North Korea on the other hand, is a communist country that is on the borderline of fascism weirdly enough. The country has and absolutist as a leader. The economy is largely closed, mostly orientated to self-sustaining, where everything is owned by the government, while the private sector doesn't exist.
