The department of homeland security was created to coordinate efforts to " improve security at homeland".

It's the most up to date bureau office, affirmed by Congress in November 2002. It's intended to combine U. S. safeguards against terrorist or militant assault and to better arrange counter terrorism knowledge. Consolidating parts of eight other bureau offices, it is the principal new government division since the Veterans Affairs Department in 1989.
