One possible explanation can be that those people who have any psychological disorder may try to utilize the smoking or cigarettes as a type of self-medication.

This can be strengthened by another fact presented in the Critical Thinking box on smoking and psychological disorders that those individuals who have many psychological disorders seem to have an elevated rate of smoking each day compared to those who have one or no disorder.
