Our Constitutional framework attempts to secure freedom through the three same branches of government. That framework did not represent everything. For instance, it didn't represent individuals in places of energy basically declining to do their Constitutionally-coordinated occupations. The Founders just didn't expect individuals in Congress, in the Judicial, or the President to decline to do their obligations or to be transparently against the government and hostile to Constitution. There are checks against any single individual or even any single branch cis-acting, however, in the event that they're altogether adulterated, there's no assurance for singular freedom.
