The rule of Hebb is a postulate which Donald Hebb proposed in 1949.

It is a law of learning that explains how neuronal behaviors affect the neuronal relation, i. e., synaptic plasticity. It offers an algorithm for updating neural relation weight within the neural network.

Hebb's rule offers a simplified model, based on physiology to imitate the activity-dependent characteristics of synaptic plasticity and has already been extensively used in the artificial neural network area.
