People tend to remember the first and last element of a list better when they ask us to read it or listen to it to say it later. This phenomenon is known as the serial position effect and is related to the way we encode and store our memories in short and long term memory.

It is important that we do memory exercises, pay more attention to the elements of the middle to protect ourselves from this type of effect that can represent a bigger problem later.

    Explanation:

The serial position effect also generates a general selection preference known as the order effect: we are more likely to select the first and last elements of a list, than the middle items (for example, as with the order of the candidates in a vote).

Serial-position effect occurs when the beginning and ending information of a list are more easily recalled than middle information.

Serial-position effect influences how people remember your offers, products, and words.

A way to protect against this is to spend extra time studying information in the middle of a list.
