What caused many people from lower social classes to support the buddha's teaching

The caste system was established in India where a person's rank or status is based from the time you were born and there was no way to change his luck in life. The Buddha opposed this and he established the ideas of morality and equality. This ideas caused many people from the lower social classes to support the Buddha's teachings.
