The requirements for serving on a federal jury are being a U. S. citizen, being proficient in English and never have been convicted of a felony.

Jury service consists in being a juror in a legal proceeding. In the United States, jury service is mandatory for all citizens except for members of the armed forces and members of the police department. In other words, it is illegal not attending jury duty once you have been summoned. Besides the requirements mentioned, there are other requirements, such as residing primarily in the judicial district for at least one year and having no disqualifying mental or physical condition.
