Why were the 13th, 14th and 15th amendments added to the Constitution During the Reconstruction period?

    During the Reconstruction, they were trying to fully abolish slavery. They were trying to make African Americans equal to everyone else. The 13th Amendment abolished slavery, the 14th Amendment made them citizens, and the 15th gave them voting rights.
