The Dead Sea is home to a variety of animal and plant species and is a center for tourism and mineral mining. It is located between Israel and Jordan and is fed by the Jordan River. Because agriculture and urban centers use up to 90% of the Jordan River's flow, the Dead Sea has begun to shrink. A group of environmentalists and scientists from Palestine, Jordan, and Israel are attempting to preserve the Dead Sea so that future generations can also benefit from its resources.
