    In the 1980’s Democrats regained the control over state legislatures which is often based on the so-called "white supremacy". Populists and Republicans had a temporary loss of power paving the way for the Democrats to supersede. The later adopted electoral rules on new specific laws to deprive black voters from practicing their rights for suffrage. They then made voting harder. A lot of medium were used. This includes poll taxes, residency clearances, test on literacy and record-keeping credentials--everything was administered by the ‘whites".
