Explanation: The Autonomic Nervous System is a control system that regulates function unconsciously. It's a primary mechanism for control of flight-to-flight response. Anxiety is a physiological, psychological as well as behavioral state that involves increased autonomic and neuroendocrine activation. Once a child shows no anxiety when spanked, a lower-than-average level of ANS functioning might be indicated as a result of psychological maladjustment or interaction between parasympathetic (PNS) and sympathetic (SNS) nervous system which can lead to a child being a chronic offender if not addressed.
