Labor unions are afraid of the job loss of their members and that it will lead to relaxed safety laws. Environmentalist are afraid that because of the integration with the US will lower the US’s environmental standards which in turn will encourage polluted companies to move to Mexico to avoid having to comply with US environmental standards
