    Explanation: Sam is very less likely to share the status of his life with his parents because he is suffering from the chronic sadness which is also known as depression. During this state of his life the person becomes hopeless and not able to make the decisions. The person tends to think about harmful activities, he/she can do to self.

    Thus, these factors won't allow Sam communicate with his parents about his problem.
