    The answer to this question is operant conditioning.

    Operant conditioning is based on exposing someone to possitive stimuli if they display desired behavior and expose them to negative stimuli if they displaye unwanted behavior.

    Eventually, they will associate the negative stimuli with unwanted behavior and naturally avoid it.
