    I believe the answer is: b. The Chief Justice and associate justices serve for life or until resignation.

    The chief justice and associate justices played a curical role in maintaining the check and balances to monitor the action from both the legislative and executive branch of the government.

    Their service is made into a life time to prevent their position from being changed into someone that favoured by a certain party who happen to won the majority seat from the election.
