    Thomas Hobbes is of the belief that all phenomena that happen in the universe can be easily explained in terms of the motions and interactions of the material bodies.

    Explanation:

    Hobbes did not believe in the concept soul or the mind as separate from one's body. As he saw human beings as machines, who with their thoughts and emotions are operating according to the physical laws and chains of cause and effect. As machines, human beings can also pursue their own self-interest without effort.
