Westward Expansion had negative effects on the Native Americans as well as positive effects.

    The negative effects include:

Native Americans were forced to occupy reservations on their land.

The buffalo saw rapid population decline.

Military conflict between Whites and Native Americans resulted in many deaths.

    The positive effects include:

It allowed American industries to grow and prosper.

It awakened the abolishing of slavery

    Explanation:

The positive effects of the westward expansion somewhat cancelled out the negative effects. As driven by the "Manifest Destiny", the believe that settlers were destined to expand to the west, Americans moved to the west between 1800-1860. This move albeit with conflicts and wars leading up to many deaths, was also a good catalyst to the industrial development of America and subsequent elimination of slave trade.
