For Kenya, its independence against the Great Britain was led by Jomo Kenyatta who eventually became the country's first president. Nigeria also gained independence from the same colonial power in 1960 but faced challenges on uniting its ethnic groups. On the other hand, South Africa's nationalism fight for freedom and civil rights for the majority of the population.
