The diagnosis of Carleen is letter d, bipolar ii, it is because a bipolar ii describes the same as what is she experiencing from which she encounters her mood changing from highs and lows accompanied by depression. The difference of this with bipolar i is that it does accompany depression but the person who has this does not suffer often and the person's mood is highly elevated compared to the bipolar ii. Major depressive disorder, in the other hand, is when the person only experience depression lasting on a week and so, and this usually occurs to the person who has it. Dysthymia is also a type of depression where it is persistent and the person who has it has inability to be happy even in happy occasions.
