You're in a place where you don't belong any parallels to today how does our lack od understanding of a people and their plave destroy us?

The whole idea of being scared of what we don't understand fits into a mindless thought of not belonging and as a result, we are too afraid of the future, the people, and we're too afraid of mingling with others. There really is something off with the feeling in the modern-day society of "not belonging". The fact that it's hard to understand everything around us is what makes us afraid and paranoid at the same time. We're too afraid to go beyond our safe and comfort zone because when we do, it may be a terrifying thought if we actually liked what we see once we take the risk of stepping outside.
