Are newspapers allowed to endorse candidates? yes, the press is completely free to write whatever they want, wherever they want. yes, as long as they limit their endorsement to their editorial pages. no, the federal communications act of 1934 eliminated this option. no, newspapers must give "equal time" to all candidates.

    The answer to the question above is yes, as long as they limit their endorsement to their editorial pages. It is not prohibited to endorse candidates but it is needed to limit their endorsement for they are not allowed to show which candidate that they are in favor to, for they need to show fairness to the candidates that are going to run.
