    C. Italy had political stability, wealth, and trade.

    Explanation:

There are a number of reasons that collaborated in Italy for the beginning of the Renaissance. First and foremost, the Mediterranean culture of Italy was common to that of the great Roman and Greek civilizations. Also, the Church had a lot of control on the wealth, knowledge and had a lot political sway in Italy. Also, the merchant families who had accumulated wealth gained political control of the Northern Italian cities which in some way created a balance. Also, Italy was performing greatly in terms of trade from the Middle East and China. All this opened doors for new goods, ideas, scholars and people of intellect to come to Italy leading to the Renaissance.
