Situation: Joe plays baseball, but has been on a bit of a slump, going 0 for 25 in his last at bats (zero hits for 25 chances). On Friday, Joe accidentally wore his socks inside out and hit two doubles and a homerun. Clearly, Joe thinks, it must be the socks. Joe wears them every game now. Question: What causal fallacy is this?

It is a logical fallacy that follow that an event happens as a result of an event, the word is gotten from Latin which literally means "after this""therefore because of this"

    Answer: It's called Post hoc

Explanation: It's also called coincidental correlation or false causality, it's a type of fallacy in which what happens is the following:

As a consequence of an event that occurs first, a second event is caused.

Which is not always true, that is why it is called "false causality"

    For example:

    1. My girlfriend studied dentistry

    2. My girlfriend studied dentistry, that's why my girlfriend dedicated herself to being a lifeguard.

    Good luck, bye
