    Explanation:

Rick Riordan's The Lightning Thief from the series Percy Jackson and the Olympians tells the story of Percy Jackson, the demi-god son of Poseidon, one of the great gods. This specific book tells the story of how Percy came to learn about his father and the events that unfold to his acceptance of his true identity.

Percy narrates in Chapter 3 how he and his mother went to the beach at Montauk. The start of the chapter reveals Percy had ditched his protector Grover at the bus stand. He came home and was thinking about the museum incident when his mother saw his pained expression which he lied about. Then she revealed that they are going to the beach for three nights without his step-father Gabe.

Once on the beach, he asked about his father and then dreamed of a white horse and a golden eagle fighting each other when a hurricane woke him from his sleep. Grover also came to the cabin after a long search for Percy. And then, the three of them ran to the car to escape from the monster that has been after him.
