Why did Tecumseh form an alliance with the british after the battle of tippecanoe

The reason for the alliance was to stop the expansion of White Americans into Native American lands. Tecumseh believed that this was the best decision to protect this people and preserve their lands even if the British had the same mindset as the Americans.
