To which branch of government does the power to interpret laws and apply the Constitution to the law belong?

    This is the judicial branch.

    ("federal" is not a branch of the government, only the other three are).

    The laws are written by the legilative branch and executed by the executive branch and it is the role of the judicial branch to interpret the laws and chech their constitutionality.
