How did the framers of the Constitution ensure that there would be continuity of power in the U. S. government during the aftermath of a national crisis?

    The Framers created something new and different to any other government at the time, they created a line of Presidential succession in the government, which means that in any crisis, other officials of the United States Federal government assumes the power and duties of the office if something happens, for example, dies. The Presidential succession is listed in Article II, Section 1, Clause 6 of the Constitution.
