Explanation:

Quoted from William Shakespeare's play "Hamlet" Act II scene i. Polonius' speech about his regret in telling Ophelia to be careful of Hamlet's approaches. He knows that the young prince has an interest in Ophelia but he also did not know that the "insane" facade that Hamlet puts on is merely a means to hide his real motive of taking revenge on his father's killer. But Polonius thinks that this insanity is due to his daughter's refusal to acknowledge Hamlet's love. He admits that his act of warning Ophelia to be careful must have only led to the prince going insane.
