I think the correct answer from the choices listed above is option C. The attributes that is characteristic of savannas but not of grasslands would be shrubs and isolated trees. Savanna is a grassland system where shrubs and trees are scattered widely so as to supply sufficient sunlight.

From its name it is obvious that grassland contains mainly grass and it is not inhabited with trees. Savanna is also a grassland with many different individual trees. Savannas have shrubs and isolated trees. However grasslands contain grasses, flowers, and herbs. Additionally, grasslands have wider temperature range, while savannas are typical with warm and hot climates.
