The United states of America faced great obstacles in the form of slavery, financial crises in the south, and war with in the people of America. But, what really divided was the "high tariffs" and the development of industries in the North as compared to underdeveloped region of south America.

    Explanation:

    More Developed Northern region:

The skilled workers and the financial power the northern region of the United states of America made the difference to develop in it into a financial and industrial power house. As the European were more interested in making the investments in the region, due to abundance of skilled workers and more facilities. In south there was an under developed scene, as there were no such industrial zones been made to enhance its financial capabilities.

    High Tariffs:

The American government imposed high tariffs on imported goods. The high tariff resulted in more productivity of the American brands and the local companies started producing more in order to deal with the tariffs been imposed on them. The south on other hand had issues with high tariff as, they were indebted to the European companies, so, it was way too much to pay their taxes on such a large scale.
