Early civilizations depended mainly on the physical environment that surrounded them. As many groups settled down on the fertile shores of rivers, agriculture started to be, alonside with hunting, the food sources. However, the big demand of food led to the need to develop different technologies to produce it in bigger quantities and faster. That was one of the main reasons why they specialized in the different work available. Besides, Art became finer and artisans were needed to fulfill with the requirements of all social classes. Therefore, another important reason that led to work specialization were such classes themselves. Each group demanded different kinds of production, so workers had to organize themselves to find a niche for themselves from where they could provide the population with different foods and goods.
