Her prenatal reports for various examinations shows some positive and negative results which might be risk taking during the pregnancy. Her microbiology reports shows a positive for GBS.

    A GBS stands for Group B Strep Infection which is a bacterial infection and is present in the vagina or rectum of a pregnant women. It can be harmful as the mother can pass on the infection to the child at the time of delivery. hence the nurse recommended and initiated the intrapartum prophylaxis antibiotics to cure GBS in the pregnant woman.
