Those patients diagnosed with unilateral neglect usually could not stop from focusing on the intact or unimpaired field, which causes them to completely neglect their impaired visual field. Unilateral neglect syndrome is most commonly seen in patients who suffered from stroke, most especially if the right side of the brain was damaged. This syndrome is the inability of the individual to react to one part of the stimuli that should be perceived on both sides of the brain.
