A researcher tested the effectiveness between two treatments for chronic headache pain. In reality, there was no difference in the pain relief between the treatments, which participants were assigned to randomly.     Answer: there is no enough statistical evidence to support

    conclude that the alternative hypothesis is true and also therefore, at 95% confidence level, there is no degree of statistical evidence to prove that the null hypothesis is false.

    Explanation:

    Even if a researcher fails to reject the null hypothesis, it does not mean that he or she accept the null hypothesis and reject the alternative hypothesis. It simply infer that the researcher does not find any evidence to support or take the alternative hypothesis as the right one.
