People who are addicted to methamphetamine may sometimes display schizophrenic behaviors because this drug triggers the excessive release of dopamine within the brain. Dopamine is a neurotransmitter that controls the emotional responses of the brain to different situations, when stimulated with drugs the brain has the tendency to sensitize itself with this high levels of dopamine.
