How does culture affect the identification and treatment of psychological disorders? Be sure to define culture and provide an example in your response.

    Culture tend to influence the standard of what considered to be 'normal' to a certain extend. So, a certain type of behavior can be considered as a disorder in one type of culture while considered as completely normal in order culture.

    Explanation:

    For example, let's say that a person came from a society that constantly involved in a war with another group.

    Whenever this person hear a small sound, he will suddenly become anxious and became really tense because he feels that other people might attack him.

    When people from united states observe this, we will most likely diagnose that man with anxiety disorder. But if we consider the his background, we can't really provide treatment for anxiety disorder since his response is perfectly normal for human beings
