In the 1700 and 1800s, manufacturing was the largest contributor to Great Britain's economy. I'm the 1900's, some of Great Britain's focus on manufacturing turned to providing services.

Today, service businesses such as banking, insurance, and tourism, contribute more to Grest Britain's economy than manufacturing.
