A mult-party system is when multiple political parties have the capacity to gain control of the government office, seperatley or in a coalition. multiparty systems tend to be more common in parlimentry system than presidential.

Multiple political parties are given capacity to gain control of government offices, separately or in coalition. So this means they can vote and whoever wins takes control of government offices or they can work together to control the government offices
